Amy Degenhart is a Life Fellow of the Australian Institute of Architects and director of award-winning design and development companies degenhartSHEDD and Bubble Up.

With a Bachelor of Architecture (Honours) from the Illinois Institute of Technology in Chicago, Amy has spent 35 years designing innovative and affordable housing in Queensland, including as a consultant for Stockland, Metricon Homes, Economic Development Queensland, Lend Lease and Land matters Currumbin.

Amy and her work have been recognised with accolades from the Australian Institute of Architects, Urban Development Institute of Australia, Planning Institute of Australia, Australian Urban Design Awards, and Good Design Australia, among others.

Mary is an executive and non-executive director experienced in strategic development and implementation, stakeholder management, housing regulation and reform, corporate governance and operations, across the private and public sectors.

Mary is also the Deputy Chairperson of the National Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander Housing Association (NATSIHA). NATSIHA is the national peak body for Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander Housing in Australia. This NATSIHA Board role ensures that our organisation has an insight and understanding of current national housing matters.

Dr Michael Fotheringham has led the Australian Housing and Urban Research Institute since 2014 and is responsible for setting the national housing research agenda, leading the curation of an internationally lauded policy research evidence base on housing, homelessness and urban issues.

Michael is a member of the national council of National Shelter, a former non-executive director of Homelessness Australia, and currently serves on a variety of expert advisory panels including the Australian Government’s Cities Reference Group, the Housing Supply Expert Panel, ANZSOG Research Council, Social Policy Research Centre Advisory Board, and Homes for Homes Housing Advisory Group.

Michael provides expert advice to Commonwealth and State Ministers and is sought for evidence-informed advice by senior policy makers in Australia and internationally. He is an in-demand media spokesperson, and conference speaker, and event facilitator.

Guy Gibson has over 40 years’ experience in town planning and urban development, including 25 years with Lendlease. When he retired from Lendlease in October 2021, he was the Head of Development in Queensland, and during his career at Lendlease, he worked on over 30 new community and urban renewal projects.

Prior to joining Lendlease in 1996, Guy Gibson was Director of Town Planning at Brisbane City Council and Project Manager of the Council’s Urban Renewal Program.

He is a Life Member and past President of the Property Council of Australia (Queensland).  He is currently a Director of Brisbane Sustainability Agency, Suburban Futures, the ACT Government’s Suburban Land Agency, and is a member of Brisbane City Council’s Urban Futures Brisbane Advisory Panel and Economic Development Queensland’s Advisory Panel.

Sharon is a qualified and practicing social and regional planner who has worked in both public and private sectors across a number of industry sectors. The common threads throughout her planning career have been social infrastructure planning and design (including housing), economic development and social inclusion in statutory land use planning.

Sharon’s qualifications include Doctor of Philosophy; Master of Applied Science (Tropical Urban and Regional Planning); and a Bachelor of Leisure Studies. Sharon is a Registered Planner and Fellow of the Planning Institute of Australia, and Adjunct Associate Professor at both James Cook University (Qld) and Charles Darwin University (NT).

With more than 20 years’ experience in the property and legal sectors, Antonia Mercorella has a broad knowledge and insight into the regulatory, political and economic issues which impact housing.

As the Chief Executive Officer at the Real Estate Institute of Queensland (REIQ) for the past eight years, after serving as the legal counsel for the real estate profession’s state peak bodies in South Australia and Queensland, Antonia has shaped and led some of the most significant real estate legislative reforms across multiple jurisdictions and with all levels of government. Her expertise is backed by various strong stakeholder relationships and a range of real-time property data.

Darren is the Executive Manager of BlueCHP Limited, a not-for-profit developer and Tier 1 Community Housing Provider offering Social, Affordable and Disability accommodation to more than 2,000 residents in a Build to Rent housing portfolio.

With 25 years’ experience as a property professional, Darren’s career includes senior roles responsible for business development and strategy, project feasibility, design, development and operation.

As Chairperson of Q Shelter, peak organisation for the housing and homelessness sector in Queensland, and former Board Member of CHIA QLD and former member of UDIA QLD Housing Supply and Affordability Committee, Darren is comprehensively experienced to respond to Queensland’s housing challenges.

Phil is a well-credentialed investment, development and advisory professional with diverse skills and experience, having focussed on the institutional real estate sectors across the risk and return spectrum in Australia and the UK.

Phil held senior advisory, capital transaction / raising, asset / funds management, product / property development and commercial office leasing roles with KPMG, Macquarie Capital, NAB, Lendlease, Savills and Colliers. Phil has also gained significant experience with major social infrastructure projects / transactions.

Phil’s experience across the public, private and not-for-profit sectors equips him to well to navigate the challenges and develop effective and tailored solutions for clients.

Natalie Rayment is a Town Planner with 30 years years’ experience working in Queensland private consultancies, State and local governments.

Natalie is an owner and Executive Director of Wolter Consulting Group, a privately-owned planning, design and survey practice based in Brisbane, with offices on the Sunshine Coast and Gold Coast.  Current projects in her portfolio include leading the Cairns Towards 2050 Growth Strategy, planning lead on the suburban transformation of an obsolete industrial area in Yeronga, and routinely giving expert evidence to the Planning and Environment Court on a range of residential and commercial projects across Queensland.

Natalie co-founded YIMBY Qld ('yes in my back yard') in 2016, promoting good development that makes for better living. She was awarded PIA Queensland’s Outstanding Women in Planning 2020 by her peers and became a Fellow of PIA in 2021. Natalie is the immediate past Chair of the Beddown Board prior to its merger with InCommunity, the Chair of the HIA’s planning committee, and a member of the Moreton Bay Infill Housing Supply panel.

Tim Reardon joined HIA in 2004 as the Executive Director Government Relations working on the Housing Affordability summit in the lead up to the federal election. Tim then took on the role of Executive Director Tasmania until 2007. During this time a builders licensing regime was introduced including reforms to home owners warranty and HIA warded off an increase in energy efficiency standards in new homes.

After leaving HIA, Tim then represented the automotive manufacturers during the industry review of 2008 gaining $4.8 billion in industry assistance. He represented the electricity generators through the introduction and repeal of the carbon price in 2012 and also worked as a consultant for a number of other industry groups and companies on federal policy matters.

Tim re-joined HIA as Chief Economist in 2017, heading up the HIA Economics team. HIA forecasts building activity across the country, at a local council area level for all types of homes.

Matthew is a Director of Knight Frank Townsville and Knight Frank Mackay, full- service line property consultancy firms servicing Central and North Queensland and a Director of Knight Frank Residential Valuations servicing South East Queensland.

Matthew is currently a member of the Property Council of Australia’s Townsville Chapter, the Knight Frank Valuation National Executive and past committee member of UDIA Queensland and the Townsville Chamber of Commerce Board.

Matthew has broad experience with valuations across Queensland. He primarily conducts property consulting work with a focus on project feasibility of residential subdivisions and residential built form development valuations. Geographically, Matthew services both metro and regional Queensland including Southeast, Central and North Queensland.
